Davey SEED Campus – Experience / Tour event and networking reception

Take a closer look at sustainable design and construction in action! The RCA invites you to a behind-the-scenes hard hat tour of the Davey Tree SEED (Science, Employee Education, and Development) Campus in Kent on Thursday, May 8th, 2025. This nearly 200-acre property, formerly home to Oak Knolls Golf Course and Franklin Elementary School, is being transformed into a state-of-the-art training and research facility for The Davey Tree Expert Company.

This tour will highlight the innovative techniques used to bring this net-zero campus to life. You’ll learn about the role of Structural Insulated Panels (SIPs) and steel superstructures in creating energy-efficient buildings. The site features a 70,000-square-foot training center with classrooms, laboratories, and an event space, as well as a 10,700-square-foot indoor climbing training facility.

We’ll discuss sustainable site construction, integration of SIPs into net-zero designs, and how these efforts reduce environmental impact.

After the tour, we’ll gather for a networking reception with food and beverages at Belltower Brewing Co. to keep the conversation going, including Q&A with Davey Tree representatives.

Attendees will need to wear standard construction site PPE (hard hat and eye protection),  said will be provided to those who cannot bring their own.
