Military Service Initiative
RCA’s Military Service Initiative was created to promote opportunities for employment for transitioning service members. In turn, RCA is able to provide access to talented applicants to members who are willing to spend the time and effort to train them.
We know RCA members are seeking qualified staff, including construction superintendents, project managers, estimators, administrators, and more. Many have internship and training programs for these positions. In many cases, the skill sets of service members are in line with the positions that our members need to fill. With some specific construction management training, the skill sets can be transitioned and service members can embark on a new and exciting career in retail construction.
RCA representatives have been participating in the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation's Hiring Our Heroes job summits across the country. We developed a generic superintendent application that interested service members complete and return to the RCA national office. RCA will share these applications with members who confirm their interest in participating in the Initiative and their commitment to providing the necessary training and mentorship.
Members: If you would like to be a part of this program, email Carol Montoya at [email protected] Applications already in-hand will be made available right away and you will be notified when new ones are received.
Veterans: If you would like to complete an application to be shared with our members, download the application and return the completed application to the RCA office via email: [email protected].

U.S. Chamber of Commerce, Hiring Our Heroes, Corporate Fellowship Program
This program is a 12-week program, held three times a year at various military installations and host cities around the country. Each class hosts 15-30 active duty service members (and military spouses in select locations) who gain experience working in the private sector with participating companies and attend weekly education sessions. Host companies help service members bridge the gap between their military service and civilian careers while also gaining access to a natural recruiting pipeline of military talent.
